Joy Memory Verse: "The joy of the
Lord is your strength".
Nehemiah 8:10
JOY is... A constant contentment.
Having gladness, not based on circumstances/
"God will grant you peace and strength,
when you're having a hard time."
Connecting Joy:
Spending time with God brings me Joy!
Create a Fruit of the Spirit Prayer Journal:

*One Reason I am Joyful today
(Draw or write why you are joyful today)

In Jesus' name, Amen!
Joy in Action:
Filled with God's Joy
Self inflating balloon experiment:
Baking Soda
Balloon
Empty water bottle
Vinegar
Small funnel
Spoon
Pour 1-2 (through the funnel)spoonful of baking soda into the balloon.
(Using the funnel again)Pour about half inch of vinegar into the water bottle.
Stretch the opening of the balloon around the mouth of the water bottle(be careful)
Lift the balloon to allow the baking soda to fall into the bottle. Watch as the baking soda and vinegar mixture causes a chemical reaction. The gases from both will cause the balloon to inflate.
This object lesson shows us exactly how the joy of the Lord is our strength. Just as by combining the two gases causes the balloon to inflate, not relying on happiness and moving out whining and complaining(which is an insult to God), Inflates our peace, causing us to be filled with God's Joy.

Put Joy To Work:
Happiness vs. Joy
Happiness is pleasing yourself--->Joy is pleasing God
Happiness is based on comfort--->Joy is available even in uncomfortable situations
Happiness is emotionally based--->Joy is based on biblical truth
Happiness is conditional--->Joy is always available
